Each unit represents a multiple of the previous one, with 1 byte being the smallest unit and each subsequent unit being 1024 times larger than the previous.

For example, a hard drive with a capacity of 1TB can store up to 1 trillion bytes of data, while a USB Flash Drive with a capacity of 16GB can store up to 16 billion bytes.
