The initial Meaningful Use criteria were introduced in 2011 and have been updated several times since then. Each update has refined the measures and objectives to reflect evolving technology and advancements in healthcare delivery. The latest version, Meaningful Use Stage 3, focuses on interoperability, patient engagement, population health, and care coordination.
